1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
+ paid off all my debt
+ ran a half-marathon
+ saw rufus and didn't call tricky. BC SHE WAS WITH ME.
+ attempted nanowrimo. and failed spectacularly. \o/ but it won't stop me from trying again next year.
+ um. well. this happened - the one and only time i've ever popped my head in to contribute. i don't know either. :?
+ traveled through utah, idaho, wyoming, montana (for 5 minutes), and south dakota for wildlife adventure times (bison and pronghorn and elk, oh my!).

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
don't think i had any last year, except to get rid of my debt and start saving. so yay for that. this year it's all about being a better me, getting back in touch with people i've let slip away, and... yeah. working on krit v2.8 or somethin'.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
omg, the babies were EVERYWHERE this year. my non-lj friends are big with the procreating apparently: amber, alyssa, heather, barbara (well, technically it was dec 2006, but i didn't see the wee one until jan 2007, so i'm including it). at least once a week i get an email with baby!spam from someone.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
no, thankfully.

5. What countries did you visit?
didn't leave the country. just visited the fly-over states mentioned above.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
+ my own home
+ someone in my bed

march: cancer
march 10: orc w/billy (and surprise kiltie)
may 2: rufus at the el rey with tricky
may 13: santa barbara half-marathon
may 19: potc3 premiere with a muskrit
end of may: trip to nyc, first k2 squishings since the move
july: motorhome adventures with bro's family

end of oct: firefly convention & mcr pokes me in the ribs
nov 16: k2 is mine mine mine for birthday fun and thanksgiving times

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
not ruining the family business. in fact, sales have increased somewhat dramatically.

9. What was your biggest failure?
socializing/communicating/being a good friend

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
i've had this weird stomach thing since mid-august. ergh.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
THE BUFFY BOX SET. srsly, best purchase ever.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
my brother's. all my friends for being so patient and understanding.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
my own at times. i'm sure there are other's, but nothing's coming to mind. guess that's a good thing.

14. Where did most of your money go?
to credit card companies. then to the bank.

HP HP HP!!! AND RUFUS.

faffing about, tooling around, being unproductive

20. How will you be spending New Years?
i spent it at home faffing about, tooling around, and being unproductive. i fell asleep by ten, but woke up just after 11 to read some good fic, watch the clock turn 12, and say happy new year to myself.

21. Did you fall in love in 2007?
not with an actual person in my life, no. but you guys. i am so in love with mcr, it's ricockulous.

22. How many one-night stands?
donut.

23. What was your favorite TV program?
my favorite new show is without a doubt pushing daisies. LOVE it.
old favorites include: the office, project runway, top chef, heroes, lost (she says with a sigh and an eyeroll), and far too much guilty pleasure reality tv.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
i don't think so. i don't usually hate on people.

25. What was the best book you read?
+ hp book 7
+ the life of pi (even though i really disliked the ending)
the real horror of this answer is that i believe these were the ONLY books i read last year. so wrong. SO WRONG. i knew this would happen. fucking california.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
my chemical romance. shush.

27. What did you want and get?
my brother to be okay.

28. What did you want and not get?
to move out of mom and dad's.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
fuck, i saw so few films this year. =\
knocked up and juno are probably at the top.

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
i turned 36. gorged on thai food and went to see 'the history boys' with mom, dad, k2, and two teenage boys (in stripey tops - no joke).

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
if cancer didn't exist.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
i had two looks for much of the year: work clothes and pajamas.
if i wasn't in either of those, then i was in jeans, hoodies, and converse whenever possible. as per usual.

33. What kept you sane?
the buffy box set, k2, the friend-box.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
orlando (dur), keira, michael cera, and frank iero.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
um... gay marriage always stirs me. chances are it did at some point last year.

36. Who did you miss?
my nyc girls.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
we already knew each other, but i met calvin_would in person for the first time! aside from that, i don't think there were any 'new' people added to my life last year. i mentioned the being anti-social and practically a shut-in, right? :p

life can take a shit-turn just like that. i'm glad i was here for it.
also, somewhere i read something along the lines of: everybody had crappy a childhood or shit happen to them. get over it and move on.
