here be questions and answers from the interview meme that was making the rounds last weekend.
questions from
slightlytricky:
1. Rufus calls you and says, Krit! I need to sing a cover in five minutes... what song should I cover and sing?
omg, quick decision! i'll grab the old standby - total eclipse of the heart. i don't know why i love that song so much, but i do. or maybe, i don't know, even though i haven't listened to it in ages, something in my brain is poking at me to also suggest 'both hands' by ani difranco. i'm not sure why. but i do think it would be fascinating to hear ani's words coming out of rufus, and to see what he would do with them. two great tastes that taste great together maybe??
2. The Orlando love is strong with you, Krit-wan. Is there anything you'd like to really get his point of view on and no one elses?
oh wow, tough one. this might get long, so grab a drink. i thought and thought about this and, to be honest... no. i don't think so. there is a ton of stuff i want to know, most of it far too private to ever actually ask. but his point of view? his opinion? everything i consider i immediately follow with, but does it really matter to me what orlando bloom thinks about that? and the answer is consistently no. what does he think about item x? what does it matter? the point is what do you think about item x, i say to myself. and i worry that i might not like one of his answers, or strongly disagree with his point of view. which would be fine, it is fine, because again his point of view has no real bearing on my life, but now i would know about it, and what if the disappointment left me with a funk i couldn't shake, and... well, in the simplest terms, it would totally harsh my squee. and i need my orlando squee.
that being said, there is still a ton of shit i want to know. i guess i'd like him to tell me his point of view in story form. i'd like to know what his trinkets mean to him, why he started wearing them, and why he still does. what does each one mean, where did he get it, who gave it to him. what's his fondest memory from filming lotr. i want to ask if he still talks to the boys at all (aside from billy) or viggo, but i'm not sure i want to hear the truth. i want to know what he's proudest of. i want to hear about his adventures, to antarctica and nepal and wherever else, void of any soundbites or political messages. i want to know who his best friend is (mostly to make sure that he has one - sometimes i'm ridiculous and i worry). i want to know when he last laughed so hard he cried.
3. What is the best memory you're looking forward to making?
snuggling on the couch, in front of the fire, in the home that i own, with someone i love, knowing there's nowhere else i'd rather be.
4. The day after you sign the papers on your new house, you're going to go out to dinner to celebrate. Where do you go?
fatty's! scrumptious vegetarian cuisine.
5. You are awesome. Y/Y.
in a completely ridiculous way, YES. :D

cakeface:
...oh caro, your mind. it never ceases to amaze.
1. A baby manatee has been left at your front door. Recently, you inherited Sea World, making keeping it feasible. What do you name the manatee, and how do you dress it for parties?
i will name her marilyn. i will dress her up in custom made manatee-sized tiaras and sparkly feather boas, that whoosh around all pretty-like as she swims around.
2. You live in a world where mangos are the only fruit or building material. When you play 'Anywhere But Here', where is the place you'd most like to be?
on the moon, which is rumored to be void of mangos. we would build huts out of moonrock and sit by the moonpools eating moonbananas.
3. You must move - there is a volcano. You can only move to either the deep rainforests of Papua New Guinea or the wind-swept steppes of upper Mongolia. Your family is relying on you to make this decision for them. Which do you choose?
well... the rainforests sound... exotic. but i don't do bugs. i really can't do bugs. 'course, mongolia sounds like it might be prime real estate for scorpions and other desert creepy crawlies. UM. i will choose mongolia. ewan mcgregor went to mongolia once and the people seemed really hospitable. i will similarly hope to rely on the kindness of strangers. um. yes.
4. Cereal of pancakes?
* if that is not a typo, then... sure! little doughy maple flavored bits in my bowl. i would eat that.
* if that is a typo, and you meant cereal OR pancakes, then CEREAL. i like pancakes a whole bunch, but they cannot compare to the joy i feel just walking down the cereal aisle at the market. SO MANY OPTIONS. do we go 'healthy' with the flakey oatey cereals, or just grab that box of count chocula and be done with it. nom nom. i love cereal. any time of day. it's not just for breakfast.
5. What is your favourite thing to do on a rainy day?
sit inside (preferably somewhere with a window so i can periodically gaze at the gloomy weather) with a hot cuppa, a blankie, and my computer. or a good movie. something comforting, warm and cozy, like lotr or pride and prejudice or harry potter.
