because i cannot stand silence while i work, we have the radio on all day. for the past month, the station we listen to has been playing a commercial for brokeback mountain about every hour. while i am thrilled that the movie has been given the publicity/advertising/media attention that it deserves, and while yes, i smile to myself every hour, my insides also ache and twist every hour, and sometimes i still want to cry. and now, there's an extended ad including mention of its golden globe wins. *sigh* i mean, hooray, but ow.

Don't worry, I haven't seen it yet either. It's not the kind of film I want to watch in a theater.

That's how I felt. I also wanted to go when it was right. So I waited and now it's at this wee little one-screen, 50-person theatre near my place, and I went last night on my own and oh. Oh it was lovely.

But I feel ya. No other way I'd have gone.
