cubdaycampcamptamarackgayshirt - <3 <3 it's a shirt that frank iero of mcr has worn a LOT over the years. sometimes it's worn right side out (as seen below), and sometimes inside out, which displays the handwritten HOMOPHOBIA IS GAY. (you can read more about it here if you're so inclined.) the handwritten message first sparked my interest, but the fact that he's worn it again and again over the last six years is what really gets me excited. yeah, i don't know. it's a thing.




holy family nutley - yeahhhhhh, it's another frank iero shirt. *headdesk* 1) it just sounds funny. holy family nutley. (but apparently nutley is a city in jersey not far from where the mcr boys grew up.) and 2) he used to wear this shirt quite a bit, too. not in a while, though, so it's likely been retired. like i said, it's a thing. *shrug*




johnny knoxville (???) - why is everyone always so confused and/or disturbed by my love for johnny knoxville? HE'S HILARIOUS. AND HOTT. he's a big stupid dirty boy and i adore him. (and okay, the shoes don't hurt. you know how i am.) let me see if i can open some minds with a wee knox spam...

Well, I'm late, as ever, but hey, I'm here! *g*

Ben Affleck:

Oh, Ben. Ben, my heart, my love... I must shamefully admit that I prefer Matt Damon as an actor to Ben, but I am so proud of Ben for what he did with Hollywoodland and for directing Gone Baby Gone. He's one half of the Original OTP, and I think I'll probably always love him just for that. *g*


Dave Grohl:

Well, he's Dave. He's brash and funny and HOT LIKE BURNING and his love for Taylor Hawkins (his drummer) is almost as legendary as Ben & Matt's love for each other. I loved Nirvana, love what Dave's done with the Foos, and I just love Dave, in all of his crazy-ass, sexy ways.


Dennis Lehane:

Dennis is a mystery-noir writer, the author of the Kenzie-Gennero series (Gone Baby Gone, which Ben directed, was adapted from the fourth book in this series), and one of the best fucking modern day writers out there. He primarily writes about South Boston, and, my God, he's just... I am in such awe of him and how he writes. It's like reading brutal poetry, and his characters are so flawed and fucked up, but still trying, and it's painfully beautiful. I would recommend him to everyone (even though he's not the easiest read).


Ethan Hawke:

I have a shameful confession about Ethan. I sort of tend to forget about him until I see one of his films, and then, BAM, I remember why I love him so fucking much. He's just so raw & unguarded in his acting, and he doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves. And he's a pretty fucking good writer, too.


Lord Byron:

Oh, Byron, the first real bisexual superstar. *draws hearts* I find his personal life just as fascinating as his poetry. He had this incredible way with words, but he was such a fucked up individual. I love the dichotomy that he was able to create such beauty while living such an ugly life, and I love that he was completely unashamed of his sexuality (including the incestuous bits), and I really love that he tried to compensate for his multitude of sins by fighting for the Greeks in their War of Independence.


Skinny Puppy:

I think I first heard them on 120 Minutes, back when MTV still played music videos. The song was "Dig It", off of 'Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse', and I was fucking hooked. They're responsible for getting me into industrial music and for introducing me to Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Nitzer Ebb, etc, etc, etc. I can't say that I like their latest album as much as I like their earlier works from the 80s and 90s, but I love Ogre as a producer. And VivisectV is one of my all-time favorite albums.


Venice Beach:

I love to come to Venice and chill, people watch, take in some beach therapy, and show for hippie skirts, jewelry, and really cool art. There's just something so sweetly nostalgic about the Venice boardwalk, and there's always a lot of very pretty eyecandy to ogle. I always feel refreshed & rejuvenated after I've been to Venice, and it saddens me that I don't get to the beach as often as I'd like (considering I don't work that far from Venice, it's a travesty). We shall have to go for brunch one day. :)
