Jude Law issuing a public apology to finacée Sienna Miller, admitting that he has been carrying on an affair with nanny Daisy Wright, who cares for one of his children. "I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused."

also, um, did she/we need a public apology? announcing your infidelity to the world, this is... this is what we do now?

The nanny came out and pretty much gave a full accounting of the affair to the newspapers. Not that I condone what he's done, but I do admire his balls in apologizing publicly.

I think things of this sort are done differently in the UK. Or at least that's what it seems to me.

ah. i hadn't realized that the nanny already blabbed about everything. his public apology was the first i heard about it and then thought... 1) dude, you suck, and 2) it's called privacy - i don't need to know about this.

but i guess if it's already 'out there', good on him for admitting it publicly and apologizing. i'd still tell him to fuck off, but maybe that's just me. ;)

also, you know what? today is a much bettah day then yesterday! spread the word and lets make it so. *frolics wichoo*

Yup. Her blow by blow account of it was on Sunday and Jude's apology was Monday. Which kind of makes me feel like all the parties knew about it way in advance. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find the nanny had asked for money not to tell the story. feh.

it seems to me it takes a LOT of guts to do that, especially to your fiancee and the whole world. maybe it means he really cares for his fiancee. or that he cheated on her, realized that wasn't going to go anywhere, and then decided to come running back in the biggest fanciest way possible. what a dope.

yeah, i suppose it takes balls to admit your mistakes to the world. and clearly, monogamy is not jude's strong suit, as i'm pretty sure he left his first wife for his current fiancee a couple years ago. whoops.
