so i was thinking of purchasing a digital camera tomorrow but i know very little about them. would very much appreciate any advice - say an omg whatever you do, do not buy this one or maybe this is what i have and it's not bad, serves its purpose or i'd highly recommend one of these!

i'm not looking for anything too extravagant, i'm no professional. i'd just like the ease of pointing, shooting, and then posting. ;)

anyone, anyone, bueller?

so i was all set to go with the sd300 until i stumbled upon several customer warnings about the camera's LCD screen and how fragile it is, having broken or cracked for no apparent reason. how has yours help up? eep eep!

So far it's been great (and I haven't been all that nice to it either). It hasn't really spent much time in the camera case. It's been knocking around in my purse or pocket most of the time and I haven't had any problem. Of course, I've only had it a few months so who knows.

I know I decided against one of the Sony cameras because it had a very large lcd screen and the clerk warned against getting it scratched, etc.

Tricky also has a canon powershot a70 which is about 3 or so years old. Her screen has held up pretty well, a few scratches but no serious cracks or problems.

All I can say is that so far, I couldn't be happier than I am with my camera.

hmm, that's good to know! i heard some horror stories that had me running for the hills, but i think i'll keep it as an option for now. thank you so much for all the great info! <3!
