koncupiscenceso, over the past few months i have fallen head over heals in love with bandom (mostly mcr). i haven't posted about it too much (aside from the ridiculous dream spam) because... i just haven't felt comfortable doing so. the majority of my bandom enthusiasm has been taking place in comments in other people's journals and over email. multiple daily emails (biz in mouth omg).
but the thing is... i want to start posting more here, in my lj. and i know that's going to... well, it's just not going to be of much interest to many of you. i know that some of you will say, so what, it's your fucking journal, post whatever you want. and i also know that some of you are sighing and thinking great, more shit to scroll by, because i've been there, too. but then i think that some of you could possibly be interested, maybe, but you don't really know who the hell i'm talking about, so... yeah.
bottom line, i'm sorry if this journal turns into a place that you can't stand, but... *hands*
and so i think i've been feeling stuck, like i can't post stuff about these boys without first explaining who they are. but then when i sit down to try to make an introductory post about mcr and why i love them so, i just can't. i get lost in my picture folders and can't see straight enough to focus. so i'm going to barrel through this and just make it quick. this is not thorough, this is no primer (though i could point you in that direction should you desire), i think it's simply what i need to move forward (for whatever ridiculous reasons).
this is baby gerard way. he's a big fan of comics. he went to art school.

to sum up, 9/11 happened, he reevaluated his life, and said screw a career in art, i'm starting a band! and so he did.

they swapped out the big guy, matt, for the new muscle, bob bryar (far right), and all the world rejoiced.
conveniently, they booted matt in august 2004 at the same time that gerard decided to get sober.
oh right, gerard way is an alcoholic.
i kind of adore young, drunk gerard.
but my point here is that this worked out well, timing-wise, esp to noobs like myself. say you're looking at photos or watching interviews and thinking damn, gerard looks wasted, just look for the drummer. if you see matt, then yes. gerard probably is wasted. if you see bob, then nope. that's just gerard. <3 easy peasy.
so why do i like him? he's a dork. he's the underdog. he's earnest and sincere. but mostly his honesty fucking kills me. even when he comes off as arrogant (which i think is rare, but it does happen), you can tell he really believes in what he's saying. there are very few contrived bullshit answers coming out of his mouth in interviews, even when he's answering the same damn questions over and over again. he's seems genuine. and it always kind of blows my mind a little bit.
he's also pretty darn good looking.

gerard has many looks. sometimes he's adorable (and blond).
sometimes he's really pretty.
and sometimes he's just damn attractive.

but i prefer pre-lasik mikey.

mikey is also terminally knock-kneed. oh, he won't die from it, but it kills me a little every time.
it's unfortunate how few photos i have that actually document this, but it's seriously one of my favorite things about him.

and he's a dork like the rest of us.
this is bob. he is all kinds of awesome.
he's kind of like a tootsie pop. all hard on the exterior...

he's currently going for the lumberjack look. the lumberjack look with long flowing locks.

someone once posted on an anonymeme that frank's face freaked her out. like not in the good way, she implied he was kind of hideous. now i know we all have different tastes, but come on, this just does not even make SENSE to me.
i mean, SRSLY YOU GUYS.
what is not to love. what?! nothing, that's what.
frank is a pint-size ball of sex.
i shouldn't be attracted to him. height has always been a serious issue for me. i mean, even the hobbits couldn't change that. as much as i like them, and as hot as they are, i still get hung up on the height thing.
but with frank, that whole issue got chucked right out the window. i don't even know, but the fact that i could scoop him up and put him in my pocket makes my heart grow three sizes, and my bits throb.
so tiny!
and also, you know, bendy.
and i want to nibble on his middle.
and hump the shit out of him.
it also doesn't hurt that sometimes, though not often, he wears chucks.
okay, stopping now, cause i could literally go on for days. let me just end with one more reason why i adore frank and gerard. because they do shit like this.
