i often email links to myself as a reminder to come back later when i have more time. nine times out of ten i will then see a new message in my inbox and GET EXCITED, wondering who emailed me, who emailed me?! oh. right. I DID.

oh, definitely. i do this all the time. also, you'd think i wouldn't get excited upon seeing 1 new message considering most of my emails are from list servs or places like amazon, but i can't help myself.

right?! sort of like with snail mail, too. what did i get, what did i get?! oh, just a bill. and another bill. woo. but there's always that initial excitement of what ifs and maybes.

I once did that with a poster tube I got in the mail. It wasn't until I was holding a giant black and white artsy photograph of a nude woman that I was like, "....waaaaaaait. I didn't order a poster!"

Turns out it was addressed to an Abigail who lived way across town - I had accepted it in my towel from the FedEx guy without looking at it, and, well, whoops.

That said, it's a damn fine poster and it's still on my wall. Sorry Abigail.
