someone once told me though that we should focus on things we truly dislike, things about our parents that just aren't good, and work to avoid that. everything else we get from them is just peanuts.
i know giada de laurentiis claims it is (every time she ever mentions arugula). therefore my mother is constantly going on about arugYOUla and how peppery it is. BUT IT'S NOT. it's like lettuce. or baby spinach without the dirt. it's good! i eat a lot of it. but never once has it reminded me of pepper.
and even if it were peppery? i don't need it described to me every goddamn time the word is mentioned. WE EAT IT A LOT. I KNOW WHAT IT TASTES LIKE, MOM. *BANGS HEAD REPEATEDLY*
Okies. Today? I went to have a mexican feast at Memo's. And it was yummy. And then I happened to mention to the very charming waiter that i was out by myself because I was enjoying my birthday! So he brought me some fried ice cream. because apparently fat girls need all the dessert they can get.
or when you're buying it? or when you're taking it out of the fridge? or when you're chopping it up? and then mixing it in? and then serving it to your family?
