woke up parched and headachey, but nothing some water and a couple advil couldn't handle. stumbled to brunch by 2 pm (tomato, spinach, and goat cheese omelet with potatoes and veggie sausage, yum!), and then went to see the bourne supremacy - which was pretty damn decent. :) and for whatever reason, i kept forgetting that karl was going to be in it, so we're sitting there, and when he first came on screen i jumped and gasped and then smiled insanely, clapping my hands and squeeling internally. then i had to explain to my friends what the ruckus was about (could you describe the ruckus?), that he played eomer in lotr - you know, the guy with the long blond hair - from rohan - with the horses - his sister was eowyn, the blond who wanted to get with aragorn but was shut down, yes, him. but dude, he was fucking sexy in that movie, i mean, hawt. even though matt was our hero, i couldn't help but root for karl a little, even though he, you know, did that thing, *so not spoilery* yeah. LOVE KARL!

said goodbye to friend and former roommate, *sniff*, and came back to settle in for the third red sox/yankee game (and i know you were gone all weekend, but please, [livejournal.com profile] camillafarfalla, tell me you saw at least some of either saturday's or sunday's game!!!). and once again, we ruled. and they sucked. \o/ and all was right with the world. and i still want to have johnny damon's babies. liek wo. oh! and john kerry was at the game (whatever) and so was ben affleck (hot damn! woohoo!!!). and because kerry was there, ben got booted to the yankees' side of the field - the "evil empire" as he called them. :D LOVE HIM!

also watched six feet under, and i must say, i thought it was one of their best episodes. one minute i'm laughing my ass off (another classic fisher dinner, with one of the three siblings high as a kite!), and then i'm thoroughly moved by brilliant performances and incredibly touching scenes (esp btw nate and david). it's a great show - the acting is superb and the writing is... real - not forced or contrived the way queer as folk can be. LOVE HBO!

and before heading to bed, managed to skim the flist looking for reports from comic-con. great pictures of billy and david, lots of dom, and reports of shox sightings, but no pics of that. :( but! i did get to see clips from the lost panel, so that was cool. i so wonder what matthew fox must think, sitting next to dom, and DOM is the one that all the girlies are screamin' and hootin' and hollerin' for. is he relieved that it's not him anymore, or is he like, "buh? o_O i'm a foot taller than this schmo. that's it, let's settle this, we're having a scruff-off!" :D can't wait til september omg! LOVE DOMMEH!

And a week later... I did indeed see most of Saturday's game! omg. I actually watched from the 7th, when I got back to where I was staying. I started making dinner and asked my friend to check who won, bc I thought it was an ealry afternoon game that'd be over, and he comes back in to say that the Yanks are up and they're still playing, and I was all, wtf? I thought it would be over! And then he comes to tell me that on further investigation, the game had lasted 3.5 hours already. Lord. So we made dinner and watched the rest while eating and fortunately I finished my pasta before the 9th, or I would have gotten red sauce everywhere in my glee about that last run.

And then this past weekend I was entirely out of commission, so I am just now dealing with the news my co-worker just brought me about the loss of Nomar. I mean, I know he hasn't been playing so well, but... ::weeps:: I love him. At least he's going to a good home. Still though. meep.

omg, GREAT game. i was so happy when they booted fucking a-rod, too.

and nomar, i know. *sniff* i was talking with my roommate about this just last night. i don't know how they do it. how can you play for one team for so many years and then, boom. gone. traded to another. i know this is what happens, but... i wouldn't want to play any more if i couldn't play for my team. but, they probably just see it as another job. i think the fans have more of a loyalty to their teams than the players do.

it blows. even if he has been kinda sucky lately, it still blows.
