had a lovely evening last night with [livejournal.com profile] camillafarfalla; a little dinner, a little rally/protest hoohah, and a great movie. and a pressie, too, omg! good times. =)

during lunch today i watched "Totally Obsessed" on vh1 and among the freaks they profiled was a woman obsessed with lotr. she has the cardboard characters. no biggie, so do a lot of people. she talks to them often. says good morning, good night, has long heart to hearts with them. okay, sure, whatever, different strokes. she takes cardboard!legolas to work with her. um... she took cardboard!gollum and cardboard!smeagol out to dinner with her. to a restaurant. in public. she propped them up, each in his own chair, and had them argue back and forth over what they should drink and eat (doing the gollum and smeagol voices, naturally). and in front of the waitress. and instead of talking to her family, continued to talk back and forth with the two pieces of cardboard. O_O

yikes.

*shakes it off*

i have a gmail invite, yay, but i can't think of a proper name to use, wah. ideas?

and now a movie meme yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] prt_69:

Put your favorite movie that the corresponding actor stars in, and then add one actor to the end.

as you can see, i had problems selecting just one movie. i mean, how do you define favorite? the best movie? the one i prefer to watch over and over and over again? the one in which they gave the best performance? often my favorite movie that they starred in was not necessarily my favorite role of theirs - so i may have listed two movies - or three, and occasionally four. oops.

+ Tom Hanks - Forrest Gump (The Money Pit and Toy Story 2 tie for second)
+ Jim Carrey - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (movie), Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (role) - and did we know that he's set to star in the six million dollar man? w00t!
+ Tobey Maguire - Pleasantville
+ Mel Gibson - Lethal Weapon II (shoosh)
+ Ben Affleck - Good Will Hunting (but also Mallrats and Chasing Amy - and i also have a soft spot in my heart for Armageddon, shoosh, and Forces of Nature, SHOOSH I SAY!)
+ Nicole Kidman - Moulin Rouge! (close second = Practical Magic)
+ Liv Tyler - Lord of the Rings
+ Harrison Ford - Star Wars
+ Natalie Portman - Garden State (movie), Beautiful Girls (role)
+ Ewan McGregor - Moulin Rouge! (Trainspotting and Shallow Grave tie for second)
+ Edward Norton - Fight Club (or American History X)
+ Angelina Jolie - Playing By Heart (but also Gia and Girl, Interrupted)
+ John Cusack - High Fidelity
+ Renee Zellweger - Bridget Jones' Diary
+ Johnny Depp - OMG DON'T MAKE ME CHOOOOOOSE! 21 Jump Street Tommy Hanson = Tru Love 4evah! okay, Pirates of the Caribbean (but also Blow and Chocolat)
+ Sean Penn - Fast Times at Ridgemont High (but performance = Dead Man Walking)
+ Will Smith - Men in Black (and i have an odd fondness for Enemy of the State)
+ Meg Ryan - When Harry Met Sally (also Addicted to Love)
+ Catherine Zeta-Jones - Chicago
+ Sandra Bullock - Practical Magic
+ Gwyneth Paltrow - Emma
+ Brad Pitt - Fight Club
+ Keanu Reeves - Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (and Parenthood, but his role was tiny in that)
+ Cameron Diaz - Being John Malkovich

i thought of that, but they also interviewed some of her relatives who seemed a little... concerned. and confused. and concerned. :/ at least she's not stalking the actual actors (that we know of) and only molesting their cardboard counterparts. but still. eek.

My son watched that...the first thing I asked was, 'Um....Did they show her sitting at a computer?' Heh.

i actually listened for her name (which i promptly forgot) to see if it sounded at all familiar - it did not. which i guess is a good thing? luckily, i don't think i've met anyone that far gone yet. ;p
