THE OC STARTS TONIGHT?! is that really true? how did i not know this before now? ...

odd moment of the day: kathy lee gifford had lunch at the same deli that i went to today. o_O i must say, she looks far better in person, not nearly as scary as she does on tv.

so i just related one of my truly embarrassing moments to calvin_would in comments and for some reason have the impulse to post it here as well for your amusement.

calvin had stated in her '20 facts about me' meme that she's not sure she'd ever want to meet a celebrity that she really admires for fear of making a fool out of herself. to which i commented:

he was hardly a celebrity and i don't know that i 'admired' him as much as i just thought he was a hottie, but this certainly falls in the making a complete fool out of myself category:

there was once this short-lived tv series called 'alien nation', a spin-off, if you will, from the movie by the same name. the main alien family on the show had a teenage son, buck francisco, played by an actor named sean six. the aliens had no hair, big bald heads with spots instead. still with me?

so one day there was this convention? and i went? and he was signing autographs? so i walked up to have him sign a picture of himself? and here was my big moment in front of him omg my heart raced and raced and i thought i would pass out.

sean: hi.
me: hi.
sean: *signs picture*
me: i always wondered what you looked like with hair.
sean: ...
me: *crimson* *moves along*


I ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT YOU LOOKED LIKE WITH HAIR?!

and thus ends my 'i carried a watermelon' moment. *eternal facepalm omg*

um... what embarrassing things do you do when no one's looking? or when you're all alone?

um... any good junior high stories where you thought you might literally die from the horror? ie wearing white shorts and getting your period, throwing up in front of the boy you like, falling down the stairs at recess?

OH MAN. UM. i have a total dirty crush on tucker carlson. and it's really embarrassing to admit to someone who isnt fandomy that i have giant boners for olympic swimmers. um, i can't think of anyone else really embarrassing right now. i have a pharmacy crush on the boy who gives me birth control every month though, which isnt embarrassing except for where i always blush a lot.
i have a tendency to obsess about my eyebrows, which can be embarrassing if i get caught sitting at my desk staring into a tiny mirror. i also obsessively do maintenance between bikini waxes. and um. i am forever reading the internet and talking to the internet while sitting on the toilet?

OH OH HERE'S AN AMAZING JUNIOR HIGH STORY. i had a huge huge crush on this boy rob, and for some reason i thought the best way to deal with it was to put a note in his locker confessing to it, so i did, but i did it at the WRONG TIME on a friday, like too early, so i had to IMMEDIATELY GO TO ALGEBRA WITH HIM. we totally sat near each other and i heard this girl who was a friend of his telling some other girl as i approached something about "and rebekah wrote rob this note about how she's in LOVE with him..." and omg. yeah. that ruled! it seems like there should be some other good stories about having an embarrasssing crush on this other guy but i cant think of any. STAY TUNED...

if i recall correctly, he seemed a bit embarrassed by the whole thing. i remember him muttering something about the picture i gave him, or maybe he just moaned.. something to indicate he thought he looked like a doofus (it was a picture of him as the alien, with the bald spotted head :D). i did smile at him quite a LOT and he didn't seem to know what to do with that, how to respond. i may have even lingered a bit deciding in my head if i should give him my number before fleeing. thankfully, for the both of us, i just fled.

Well, if it makes you feel less embarrassed, I once made an ass out of myself flirting outrageously with Christian Coulson (Tom Riddle in Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets). I was not quite so young (i.e. 2003).
